Barnwell Brothers Memorial
Location: Roundabout at junction of A9, A907 and B998 Causewayhead, Stirling
OS Ref: NS 805 956
This monumnet is about the men behind the first powered flight in Scotland. Two brothers working at the local engineering works, Harold and Frank Barnwell.
Both brothers went on to design fighter aircraft before losing their lives in separate flying accidents (Frank Barnwell also lost his three R.A.F. sons in the Second World War).
When I have time I will post a transcription of this plaque.
