In early 2009 the Old Edinburgh Club is hosting a lecture from one of Scotland’s leading sculptors – Alexander Stoddart of Paisley about the four statues he has created for Edinburgh in the last few years (and we have all four of them on the forum)

The lecture takes place on 14th January 2009 in the Augustine United Church, 41 George IV Bridge, Edinburgh at 7.00pm.

Lectures are free to members and open to non-members paying a small fee (currently £2.00).

Wednesday 14 January
Dr Alexander Stoddart
Hume, Stevenson, Smith and Clerk Maxwell: Four Statues for Edinburgh

I hope I’ll be able to make it along.

Regards

Adam

Then we'll meet up again, Adam! But come early. Yesterday's talk by Prof. Chales McKean was so well attended that the balcony had to be opened up to accommodate everyone.

Oh my giddy aunt, are you in the Old Edinburgh club too!

I'd imagine this one will be well attended too.

Cheers

Just a wee reminder of this talk this evening (Wednesday 14th Jan). I was looking forward to attending this but unfortunately I will not be able to make it now.

I hope anyone who can attend it will enjoy Stoddart's talk.

Seemingly this was a very good lecture from Stoddart. Talk about adding insult to injury, not only did I miss it but Caroline informs me the talk from the OEC folk is that it was one of the best lectures they've had.

Hopefully he will be doing another one soon.

Regards

Adam
