Everyman
Location: In front of Waverley Court, East Market Street
Sculptor: Stephan Balkenhol (from Germany)

7.5 metres high. The figure representing the spirit of mankind is actually bronze underneath the paint.

When it was unveiled unkind commentators likened him to a window cleaner who had lost his bucket.

I'm sure if he was one of Edinburgh's more public sculptures he would atract more attention. As it is even on his scaffold he's hidden from most folk in the City at his East Market Street location.
