This stone is erected by members of St Andrews Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons holding of the Grand Lodge of Scotland and held in his Britannic Majestys 42nd Regiment or Royal Highlanders as a testimony of respect and regard to the memory of fourteen members of the above Lodge, parted awhile from the companions of their toils. They rest here awaiting the summons to the Grand Lodge eternal in the heavens.

The original memorial having fallen into decay, this replica was erected by local brethren, assisted by the Grand Lodge of Scotland AD1927.
