Axis Mundi
Location: Ex-Standard Life Offices, Tannfield, Edinburgh
OS Ref: NT 251 751
Sculptor: Unknown
Foundry: Unknown
Also known as "The Five Virgins".
The office building this sits in front of belonged to Standard Life and is now being redeveloped. I don't know what the plans are for this statue.

The Latin term, axis-mundi means the axis of the world.
It representa a point where earth and heaven meet. The base has some extra features which will have some relevance to this.

The bridge over the Water of Leith within the office's grounds has a Standard Life motif
